Maxwell Robert David Garman!!!

Our baby boy arrived Tuesday morning at 9:43 am. He weighed 7 lbs. 14 oz. and was 21 inches long. He is over a pound bigger than Gwenie was when she was born and yet I don't remember her ever being as little as he is. Anyway we are all doing pretty good! Gwenie is taking some time to get used to her new brother, but loves to look and talk to him and just see what he is doing. Here are the pictures that I promised....

We'll post more pictures when we get them on the computer.

No Baby Yet!

Two days until my due date and still no baby! I can't believe it! The good news is that I have had a great time spending the past two weeks with Gwenie and not having to share my time watching other kids. Although she really does miss Sarah it's been nice getting to spend time just the two of us before the baby gets here. The other good news is that if I haven't had the baby by Tuesday then the doctor is going to induce labor!!! Tuesday is Jared's birthday so him and our son will share a birthday.
That's about all the news for now...I'll share more after the baby arrives.
These are just a few pictures of Gwenie the past two weeks.

Waiting for our Baby Boy

First I need to apologize to all those people who check our blog to only find the same thing for over a month! I will try and do better, especially since I won't be working anymore until next school year. With only 2 weeks left until my due date every day seems as if it could be the day that I will have a son. Last week was Spring Break and I thought for sure that I would have the baby then but it didn't happen. I even went to the doctor last Monday and he said there was no signs of me going in labor, then on Wednesday when I went back to the doctor he said that the babys head was down and in position. So I was so excited thinking that I would have a new baby by today, but it didn't happen. Wednesday I went to the doctor again and he said there wasn't any change from last Wednesday. It's so nerve racking for me, not knowing when I'm going to go in labor and what I'm going to be doing when it does happen. I think that I am more nervous about this delivery than with Gwenie. I'm not really sure why, maybe because I worry about Gwenie and what she will be doing while I'm in labor. Everyone tells me that she will be fine and it may take awhile for her to get used to the new baby being in her territory, but she will adjust. She seems excited now about her "bubby", I hope she feels the same when he's actually here.
Anyway, I'll let know when the baby does arrive or anything happens before then, but for now these are just a couple of pictures of me still pregnant and of Gwenie enjoying the beautiful spring weather.

Yeah...so Kayla is busy right now and asked me to update our blog.

CHHEEESSSEEEEE-bbuurrgggaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, quite a bit has happened since our last entry. New Year's has come and gone, and along with it winter break. We are nearing the end of the second trimester at school. So that means we are a tad more than half-way through this school year. My 7th grade grils basketball season is entering the meat of its schedule. So, we'll be playing two and three games a week until the second week of March. Kayla is more than thrilled. Not really. Although, I think she enjoys it more than football season because the games take place indoors. Gwenie loves it, especially the cheerleaders and dancers. The team is 2-2 currently and improving steadily. Off-season conditioning is also in full swing for football, so that keeps me busy as well.

I recently decided to put off student teaching until the fall. This will put me a little behind as far as obtaining an actual teaching job, but it was a necessary decision. However, I was still able to continue with the program at Indiana Wesleyan and finish my remaining classes. (No more Saturday classes!!) After my online class this semester, I'll only have my student teaching and at least one online methods class to take. Almost done! I'm also now back at my old post as the detention teacher at West Vigo. No more cleaning carpet until summer.

Gwenie is growing older and learning new things everyday. The other night during some atypical winter thunderstorms, she pointed to the window at the lightning and said, "Daddy, the monsters are coming!" I had to reassure her that her Daddy would take care of any monsters that tried to get in our house. It seems as if she has a new word or phrase or new talent to show off everytime I come home from work or practice. I'm sure most of this has to do with hanging out with a three-year-old all day. But her mother is also a great teacher for pre-school aged kids. As I type, they are working on homemade Valentine's Day cards. (Kayla was thrilled to find out I had a basketball game on Valentine's Day this year. I'm now 0 for 4 on Valentine's Days since we've been married or engaged.)

Kayla keeps getting bigger and growing everyday, too. (But in a good way.) As most of you know, she is pregnant with our 2nd child, and we are having a boy. Her due date is in late April, and we can not wait for our new son to join the family! He will be the first boy born with the Garman last name in our family since my brother Kyle was born...20 years ago!

We hope you enjoy some pictures from the past couple of months.

Our First Pictures

Finally I am posting the first pictures of our new baby that will be here in April. I had tried before, but the pictures were blurry. Thankfully my dad got a new scanner for Christmas and I was able to scan them onto their computer. The first picture is pretty good, but in the second his eyes look kind of scary. Don't worry though, you can't see anything in the pictures that shows that he is boy.

Tonight something very unusual has happened that doesn't hardly ever happen. Right now as I am writing this I am the only one in the house still awake. Lately I have been the first one asleep, sometimes even before Gwenie. Anyway, I thoughtthis would be a great time to update our family and friends on what is going on with us.
Last Wednesday Jared, Gwenie, my parents and I went to the doctor for our ultrasound. It was very exciting because we were finding out what sex the baby is, which I had been waiting for since the day I found out that I was pregnant. For all of you that don't already know we are going to have a baby boy sometime in April! And if you know Jared at all you know that he is beyond excited about having a son!
These are just a few pictures of Gwenie and her Holiday spirit.

1st Reindeer Sighting

Friday night the Vigo County Library had a live Reindeer for everyone to come and see, so Jared and I took Gwenie thinking that she would cry and not want anything to do with it. To our surprise she liked it. She got to pet it and even got her picture taken with it. It was really neat to see and I was glad that we took her. They also had some other animals there for the kids to see and pet.

They also gave all the kids reindeer noses. Gwenie thinks it's so funny to put it on and even more funny when Jared or I put it on.
