Happy Holidays

The holidays are among us and we couldn't be more ready! Yesterday we spent the day putting Christmas decorations up...something that Gwenie and I had been asking Jared to do for a few weeks. It was so much fun watching Gwenie's face as we put the Christmas tree up and decorated it. This is her first Christmas where she has really been able to help decorate, so we let her help decorate the tree and you could tell where she had put the ornaments :) When we were all finished decorating Gwenie said, "Mommy that's the most beautifulest Christmas tree ever." It was so cute! Of course I'm a little biased:) I can't wait see her face on Christmas morning! We plan on taking her and Max to see Santa sometime soon. She says she is going to sit on his lap, but we'll see how she does when we are actually there. These are just a few pictures from yesterday...

Other than getting ready for Christmas not much has been going on in our house. The football season is over...thank goodness...and basketball doesn't start for a couple more weeks, so it's been nice having Jared home at night! He also only has two more weeks of student teaching! If you could, please pray that he gets a job in January!

And I almost forgot to mention...Max started crawling this week! He's really slow, but he's getting to things that he wants. He's getting so big I can't believe that he is 7 months old today. Time has just flew by! Gwenie is going to start dance class next Tuesday. She loves dancing around the house and singing so hopefully she likes the class. It's really kind of a private class because it's just her and the little girl I babysit, but I hope she has fun! Anyway...these are just a few recent pictures of the kiddos...

Smmer Vacation is Over :(

Summer vacation is over and I'm back to work :( at least Gwenie and Max get to go to work with me! It's actually been going pretty good. It's amazing what 4 months can do for maturity in boys...and I was really worried about their new dog that they got at the end of school year but he's been really good too!

Jared started his student teaching almost 2 weeks ago. He has to drive about an hour to Eminence everyday. Something we didn't plan for, especially with gas prices, but at least it only lasts a few months, then he'll be able to get a job teaching, hopefully! God has been providing so much for us though...Jared was supposed to be student teaching with one of the other coaches from W. Vigo, but then that guy got a job in Vigo Co. so Jared was asked to sub for his class until they found a new teacher....the good news...he got paid for the days that he subbed (5 days!) Jared has also been busy with football...as he always is this time of year. Tomorrow night is their first game of the season...hopefully they do okay...Jared said they didn't look very good at all at the scrimmage last week. We'll have to keep a running scoreboard on our page of all the games...just in case someone is interested.

Gwenie and Max are doing good. Gwenie is enjoying playing with Sarah this week and wishing she could go to preschool like her. She also is still very much into dressing up and dancing around like a princess. She thinks she is way older then she really is :) My little girl is getting to independent :(

Max on the other hand needs his momma every chance he can get me! He's very much a mommy's boy :) I love to hear him laugh and I love it even more when he laughs at something on his own without us trying to get him to laugh. He's so cute!! He tried cereal for the first time yesterday and loved it. I was going to post a video of it on here, but the video we took didn't turn out very well. We have some pictures though.

These are just random pictures...I forgot to download Max's 3 months pictures from the web so I'll post those next time.

We got to celebrate with our 4th of July plans on Saturday and it turned out to be such a nice day. We went to Shakamak State park and went swimming at their pool which is always a lot of fun. Gwenie loves their slide and must have went down it 20 times while we were there. Max even got in the water for a little while and seemed to enjoy it. That night we went to the fireworks in Brazil. Max just slept through them and Gwenie kind of acted like she was scared of the noise or something. But it was a really good firework show!!
Today I took Max for his 2 month check up and he's already almost doubled his birth weight! He weighs 14 lbs and is 25 inches long! I thought it was supposed to take them a little longer than this to double their weight...he must just be a big boy! Anyway, he did great getting his shots, he only cried a little, unfortunately they were out of 2 of the shots he was supposed to get so he has to go back whenever they get them in.
He's starting to smile and laugh now, it's so cute. The other day my mom and dad came over to get something and he was belly laughing at my mom, but then when I tried to show Jared later that night he would only smile. Then today my parents came to pick up Gwenie while I took him to the doctor and he got so excited when he saw them. I love that he's starting to get a little bit of a personality!
Gwenie is also doing good, just sing and dancing around all the time. oh I almost forgot to share her big news...SHE'S POTTY TRAINED! She has been for a couple of weeks and she is doing so well! I am so proud of her!!! Not to mention that we don't have to diapers for her anymore :) These are a couple of her 2 year pictures that we had taken. We've had them for a while but I just got them downloaded the other day.

And I just had to share this family picture of us. If you know Jared, you know he love Star Wars and legos so this is our family that he assembled the other night, and I just had to take a picture of it.

Happy Fourth of July

Since our 4th of July plans got cancelled with the rainy weather, I decided to take a family picture of us this morning. I just realized a couple of days ago that my camera that I've had for four years now has a timer on it so we took the picture ourselves. It's not the greatest, but we took like ten and this is the best we got and we wanted to share it with all of you.

We hope you all had a wonderful 4th of July!!!

I'll post more after we go to Shakamak tomorrow (hopefully):)

Our Summer thus Far

The weather is finally warm enough to go swimming, and Gwenie couldn't be more excited. She's been asking to go swim since I think the beginning of May, and she finally got to go on Monday and then again yesterday. It wasn't exactly the place I wanted to take her, but with all the rain and flooding there wasn't to many other options, but to go to the lake. Gwenie didn't care she loved it, she even held her nose and went under the water yesterday. She also tried to build a "princess" castle with the sand. Max was really good too, but mostly just slept.

Last Friday our little girl had her 2nd birthday :( She's getting so big! I can't believe how much time really does fly by...I want her to stay the way she is right now forever...she's in such a fun stage right now! Anyway, she wanted a Mickey Mouse birthday even though I was set on having a Princess party. So I decided since it was next to impossible to find Mickey Mouse birthday stuff to make her a cake which my sister helped me decorate Thanks Sissy!!!! It turned out pretty good I think...

We took her to the park and rode the train which she wasn't to sure about and then had her party that night. She said her favorite part of her party was when they sang Happy Birthday to her. She thought it was so funny. I think she had a good birthday despite all the storms!
Here are a few pictures of Gwenie and her birthday presents...

Max is also doing really good! He is almost 7 weeks old now, I can't believe that either. We took him to the doctor a couple of weeks ago for his 1 month check up and he had already gained a little over 3 pounds...he's up to 10 lbs. 13 oz. as of May 30th and I'm sure he's at least 11 lbs by now. He's starting to smile a lot more now and last night he was cracking up at Gwenie (of course nothing came out, just a big smile) it was so funny to watch them! I can't to see them grow up together.
