Our First Pictures

Finally I am posting the first pictures of our new baby that will be here in April. I had tried before, but the pictures were blurry. Thankfully my dad got a new scanner for Christmas and I was able to scan them onto their computer. The first picture is pretty good, but in the second his eyes look kind of scary. Don't worry though, you can't see anything in the pictures that shows that he is boy.

Tonight something very unusual has happened that doesn't hardly ever happen. Right now as I am writing this I am the only one in the house still awake. Lately I have been the first one asleep, sometimes even before Gwenie. Anyway, I thoughtthis would be a great time to update our family and friends on what is going on with us.
Last Wednesday Jared, Gwenie, my parents and I went to the doctor for our ultrasound. It was very exciting because we were finding out what sex the baby is, which I had been waiting for since the day I found out that I was pregnant. For all of you that don't already know we are going to have a baby boy sometime in April! And if you know Jared at all you know that he is beyond excited about having a son!
These are just a few pictures of Gwenie and her Holiday spirit.

We hope you all have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

1st Reindeer Sighting

Friday night the Vigo County Library had a live Reindeer for everyone to come and see, so Jared and I took Gwenie thinking that she would cry and not want anything to do with it. To our surprise she liked it. She got to pet it and even got her picture taken with it. It was really neat to see and I was glad that we took her. They also had some other animals there for the kids to see and pet.

They also gave all the kids reindeer noses. Gwenie thinks it's so funny to put it on and even more funny when Jared or I put it on.

For a while now my mom has been wanting to take Gwenie to get her ears pierced, and Jared said he didn't care as long as he didn't have to go pretty much. Anyway, yesterday she finally got it done. Gwenie and I went with my parents and sister to the mall and my mom asked Gwenie if she wanted to get her ears pierced and she said "yeah" so she did. She did really good! Of course she cried, but I don't know if it was because it hurt or not because she started crying as soon as she saw the lady put the gloves on. They are really cute on her, but I think it takes her baby look away even more. It kind of makes me sad to see her growing up.

So much has happened since I last blogged...where do I begin?

As many of you already know Jared and I got quite the surprise a few months ago when we found out that we were going to have another baby in April! We are all really excited and it is so cute to see Gwenie give kisses to the baby in my belly.

Also, football is finally over or at least for a while. They start lifting again pretty soon so it's pretty much all year long, but at least the season is over. Jared is probably disappointed, but I am glad to have him home at night at least for a while anyway. Basketball will start before we know it, but I think we have until January for that. And Jared starts going back to Indy for classes next weekend.

Gwenie is anxiously awaiting Trick or Treating. Not really, but she is really into all the pumkins out. She calls them "BOO's" and gets so excited when she sees one. Some mornings when she wakes up the first thing she says is "where's boo" and then runs around the house looking for all the pumpkins. Yesterday my parents took Gwenie and Gabe to Pumkin Works and my sisters and Jared and I went along too. It was a lot of fun! Jared and I had never been there, and there were a ton more things to do there then I was expecting especially for Gwenie and Gabe. Here are just a few pictures of our day at Pumpkin Works.

It sure has been a while

My goodness have a been a slacker or what!! I can't believe it have been over a month since I have posted anything!

Since last posting school has started and that means back to work babysitting for me and football, football, football for Jared. Gwenie and I try to go to Jared's games when they are at home, so we have been to few already. Gwenie doesn't really pay much attention to the game though she's more interested in eating all her snacks in her bag, but when the marching band comes out she's all ears! She just sits on my lap and watches the whole thing, I guess that's her favorite part about football games :) Jared bought her a football jersey to wears to his games...
she looks so cute!
We made a trip to Fort Wayne over Labor Day weekend and found out that Gwenie knew how to blow bubbles! :)
This is Gwenie and her friend riding a Jeep...it's their favorite part of the day, but it sure does scare me with her driving!

As many of you know the Indianapolis Colts are in town for training camp and how could we not go check it out when they are only a few minutes away (even though Jared is still mad that they beat his Chicago Bears). Friday was Kids Day and my mom and dad decided to go so Gwenie and I went too. I'm pretty sure Gwenie was overwhelmed by all the people there and probably the heat as well, but she wasn't that interested in anything there. Oh well at least we went, right. We did manage to get a picture of her and my dad by this giant blow up football player...

and before we left she enjoyed a blue snow cone. I tried to get her to get her face painted, but she wouldn't have anything to do with it.

Friday night we went home with my mom and dad because Jared had practice and Gwenie and I don't like to stay home by ourselves all the time. Matt, Mindy, and Gabe came over to go swimming and brought a sprinkler they had bought earlier in the week.

On Sunday, we enjoyed our day with Jared. Sunday's are the only day that Jared is home; he has work during the week then he goes straight to practice from work. Lately he hasn't been getting home until about 10. So unless Gwenie is awake when he gets home she doesn't get to see him. Then on Saturday's Jared has class in Indy until 4:30. He's almost done going to Indy, at least for a few months...yeah!!!! :)

Anyway we went to Shakamak State Park where they have a very nice swimming pool that I think I have talked about before. Gwenie loved every moment that we were there. She especially loved the slide. We must have took her down it 10 times while we were there. But Jared wasn't allowed to take her because he goes under everytime he goes the slide, so my mom, dad, and I took turns taking her and she laughed all the way down everytime. Here are a few pictures of our day.

Summer Days

Monday night I was watering the flowers in the back yard and Gwenie kept trying to get in the water, so I just let her. Then when I was putting it away she kept pointing wanting more. So I decided to let her play in the hose like it was a sprinkler and she had a blast!!! She thought it was so funny and she kept screaming in excitment. Here are just a few pictures of her fun...

Tuesday Gwenie and I decided to call and see if Gabe wanted to come over and play in the sprinkler too. We thought he would like it just as much as Gwenie did, so we called and he got to come over today and play. We got the real sprinkler out and Gwenie's pool.

Geez... it has been a long time since I last posted anything! Sorry for that, but there hasn't been much going on in our lives.

The other day Gwenie decided to help me dig up the weeds in the sidewalk, we thought that was cute so we'll share that with you.
I think it was the next day she started looking through the cracks in the fence and saying something to our neighbor...
hopefully next time it will be more interesting next time.

New Additions

This past weekend we traveled to Ft. Wayne/Huntertown for Kent, a friend of Jared's wedding. While we were there we got to meet our new niece Reagan. She is so cute! Gwenie liked to try and hold her, but she sure didn't like it when I held her. She puckered up and started to cry. I'm sure she will like her better when she gets a little older and she can play with her.

Then yesterday my Aunt and Uncle brought my new little cousin into this world. His name is Cameron and he is so cute! Gwenie seemed to like him better than Reagan.

Our Little Fish

If you know my family, you know that in the summertime we always go swimming (well really we just like to lay out and get a good tan), but the water cools us off. Growing up we always went to Dietz Lake which is now kind of a dirty lake (or pond as Jared calls it), but when I used to go as a child was fairly nice. Anyway, we decided to take Gwenie there this past week and then went again on Fathers Day. She loves the water, but she's not to excited about the sand yet. In fact I thought that she would love the sand so I told my mom that I thought that she would like a sand box for her birthday, and so my mom and dad bought her a sand box. Well she doesn't really like it. We got her to play in it the other night with Jared and I, but it didn't last very long. Hopefully she will grow to like more and more as the summer goes on. We also went to Shakamak State Park this past week. I love going there, mostly for there pool. It's a very nice pool and really inexpensive to get in. Gwenie really liked it too. I took her down the water slide that they have and she must of liked it because she wanted to go again. I'm so glad that Gwenie likes the water!!! and she's getting good tan too, better than mine.

I had to add this picture too...I got this Care Bears balloon for Gwenie and her birthday party. She loves balloons so I thought that she would like this one. I guess it is a little big for her. She looks so little :)
